What People Are Saying

When I found out I was pregnant I had been working out regularly and then just stopped as I felt overwhelmed by all the information regarding pregnancy and exercise.  I reached out to Jamie at the start of my second trimester and should have done so sooner.
Jamie taught me to listen to my body and that was the most powerful lesson I learned through pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. I joined her, along with a handful of other Strong Moms to Be for a weekly workout and most importantly a community of support where she shared her experience and created a space where we felt comfortable asking questions, sharing our worries and celebrating each other's wins.
She debunked many pregnancy movement myths and really gave me the confidence to complete the workouts. She always reminded us to listen to our bodies, check in with areas of our bodies that might feel different now that we are growing a baby, which is not always easy when you are used to going full out.  Modifications, check ins and encouragement are all part of Jamie’s class.  I am so thankful I found Jamie when I did.
I felt strong going into my delivery and felt like a rockstar afterwards, not only because I gave birth to a beautiful baby, I had also gained a voice and confidence thanks to our discussions and tips learned during Strong Mom to Be.

I cannot recommend Jamie enough!
I started training with her when I was about five months postpartum and I wish I had discovered her and her business when I was still pregnant. Jamie is an incredibly responsive and thoughtful trainer; she really took the time to get to know me and my goals and carefully catered every session to my needs.
I have been active my whole life, but having personal training sessions with Jamie helped me to feel stronger than I ever have before! In a short time I noticed how much easier activity in my day-to-day life as a new parent became. As I trained with Jamie, I felt increasingly strong and stable pushing my son up hills in the stroller, squatting down while holding him to pick something off the floor, and on long walks with him in the carrier.
Jamie is seemingly constantly learning new things about training, especially with regards to pregnancy and postpartum, and it's been wonderful to learn so much from her. Further, she is just an incredibly kind and compassionate person, and our sessions were always a restorative, fun time of self-care that I so looked forward to. Thank you, Jamie!

Jamie was the lighthouse in the postpartum sea to help me feel like I was going to be successful and supported returning to fitness.

Working with Jamie was just what I needed to feel comfortable to get back into the fitness world. As someone who was very active pre pregnancy and later advised to take it easy following two miscarriages, I struggled to stay active in my pregnancy. Jamie helped me to find myself in the exercise world again. She makes you feel like you’re working out with an old friend but also provides structure and support through each session. She understands the challenges of motherhood and provides workouts that are challenging yet flexible if time is limited.

I recommend women at any stage of their fitness journey to work with Jamie. Whether you’re pregnant and looking to safely continue exercise, postpartum looking to get back at it or even new to the gym just looking for some guidance. Jamie has changed my perspective on exercise, I no longer feel I need to spend two hours working out in order to have an effective workout.

I was given Jamie’s contact info from my Pelvic Floor Specialist Brittany at the start of my second trimester, and have been beyond grateful ever since!
I wanted Jamie’s guidance and expertise directing my workouts to optimize a healthy pregnancy. Her calming presence yet encouraging spirit helped to crank out very effective and safe workouts. I’m so glad I maintained my strength through pregnancy, as I just had a c-section to welcome our baby boy into the world and I’ve needed the strength of my legs and arms to get up and down while my abdomen recovers. Jamie has been a wonderful resource not only for my workouts but for pregnancy and postpartum advice and encouragement too. I’m very grateful for her and am looking forward to working together more in the future as I embark on this road to recovery :)

“Jamie is a fitness instructor who empowers you to feel capable of having what you need to push through any workout, wherever you are at in your fitness journey. But it doesn’t end there, her encouraging words stay with you beyond that work out and drive you back to want to push yourself to your limits over and over and finish with a crazy endorphin high. Jamie’s classes will never bore you. Time and again I have left her class astounded that Jamie found yet another way to incorporate different body movements to reach muscles I didn’t know existed. I love to leave a class dripping in sweat, with wobbly limbs and tired muscles and with Jamie you will get there, however, she will also include slow movements that allow you to enhance mobility and really engage muscles properly to achieve optimal performance in all your workouts. Thanks to Jamie’s knowledge and the education she shares throughout her classes I have never felt that I have had to sacrifice safety to get in a good workout, whether prenatal, newly postpartum or after my body had healed fully postpartum. Thanks to Jamie’s energy and belief in me as her client, I have come to appreciate the benefit of a good sweat through a variety of workouts in ways I never knew before attending her classes.  She is an amazing fitness instructor, who is constantly pushing and challenging herself to learn more so she can continue to share her expertise to the best of her ability. ”

Genuine. Authentic. Energetic. Adaptive. Flexible. Encouraging. Inspirational.

These are just a few of the words that describe Jamie and the type of fitness instructor she is. I have been training with Jamie for a long time and have enjoyed the evolution of her style and focus as she has gone through various stages of her own life and fitness journey. She has learned from all she has been through and applied it to her teaching style to encourage women in all stages of life, whether that is pre-babies, pre/post natal, or simply active living. She has adopted a philosophy that encourages people to move in a way that is right for them and encourages people to give as much or as little as they can in the moment. You can hear her say "you do you" on a regular basis to ensure people feel supported to adapt her classes to meet their needs/goals. Her energy is infectious. She is right there doing the work with you, encouraging you to push just a little harder, dig just a little deeper. And above all, when you are working out with Jamie, in addition to the pain she is inflicting, you can feel the love she has for you, as she deeply cares about the people who join her in their fitness journey.

" I started my fitness journey with Jamie when I was 17 weeks pregnant and I have never looked back! Her knowledge and experience with pre-natal fitness was exactly what I needed to feel comfortable exercising while pregnant. From her coaching style and helpful cues I learned to trust my body and I continued pre-natal fitness classes until my due date! Jamie's energy and enthusiasm kept me going many times. Now, 3 years post-partum, I still enjoy her energy and more high-intensity classes that provide a great workout and some seriously sweaty sessions. She offers a range of class styles and each one meets a need I didn't even know I had until I sign up. I am loving the mix of strength and cardio sessions throughout the week. Thank you Jamie for supporting my emotional and physical wellness, and honestly thanks to COVID-19, I can still work out with you even from several provinces away!"

And a few more…

I have had the pleasure of knowing Jamie since attending my first class with her when my son was only 6 months old. Almost 4 years later, I am expecting my second child and am grateful for her Strong Mom to Be class as it has helped me prepare both physically and mentally for pregnancy and my upcoming labour and delivery. Jamie's classes are guaranteed to be challenging and sweaty, yet safe for whatever stage of life that you are in. When the workout gets particularly intense, Jamie always offers words of encouragement to help you keep pushing and to feel strong and capable. On top of being incredibly knowledgeable in pre and postnatal fitness, Jamie is an incredibly wonderful person who will make you feel welcomed and cared for from the moment you meet her.

Jamie's classes are what YOU need. I have done her classes pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, newly postpartum and where I am postnatal. No matter where you are in your fitness journey she meets you and with an abundance of both modifications and extensions to ensure you get everything you can out of each workout. I desperately miss the in-person classes however having Jamie in my living room is the next best thing. My daughters know who she is, often join in and recently sent in their suggestions. What are you waiting for? Invite Jamie into your home!

Jamie is passionate about exercise and fitness. This comes across in every single class that I have attended. She is extremely knowledgeable about the pre/postnatal body and encourages all participants to move in a way that feels good. She encourages everyone to be as strong as they can in their fitness journey and understands that the body is different from day to day. Her energy is amazing and her smile will push you through when your mind is telling you to give up. Her passion not only shines through when teaching but in her day to day life. I feel stronger and more energized after taking one of her classes.
